A traditional music show will be held on Wednesday and Friday nights from 18th June through to 15th August. This show offers locals and visitors alike authentic traditional entertainment in its natural habitat.
The show is structured into formal and informal parts. The formal part allows the audience to experience all aspects of the tradition including music on the various traditional instruments, step-dancing and singing both in Irish and English. This will be followed by light refreshments before the informal part begins. This last part allows the audience to participate in some of the local dances as basic tuition is given in the simpler céilí dances (Siege of Ennis, Walls of Limerick etc.) and sometimes also contribute items of their own; the informal part can often be the hightlight of the night for some of the visitors from abroad.
To sum up the appeal of Seisiún, anyone involved will tell you of the numerous times they’ve heard visitors commenting to the effect that “this is the first real Irish entertainment they’ve encountered during their holiday” or that their reason for holidaying in Ireland was to experience authentic Irish entetainment first hand.
The show will start at 8.30pm each night and admission for adults is only €15. Tickets are available at the door each night. Concessions will be arranged for larger groups. Reservations can be made by contacting the number or e-mail address below.
